Kitting and bundles

Definition

Selling several component SKUs together as one purchasable item, where the bundle's availability is derived from its components' stock.

A bundle must never hold independent stock. If it does, the same physical units are advertised twice — once as the bundle and once as the components — which is one of the most common silent causes of overselling.

The correct model is that a bundle's available quantity is the minimum available across its components, adjusted for how many of each it consumes.
